To all those out there

This is to all those out there.

This is to all those who now live every moment with muscles wound uptight, teeth grated to a powder, nerves tensed and jaws clenched. Who have somehow managed to unlearn that which was never taught, the ability to relax. Who now have only memories of what it is like to not feel uptight, to let loose, and to simply be.

This is to all those who relentlessly try to swim upstream, battling against the flow of the river of time. Those who do not afford themselves a break out of fear of losing or running out of time. Those who walk manically through the desert of productivity, refusing to take shade under the oasis of ‘rest and recess’, forever chasing the mirage of efficiency.

This is to all those who restraint themselves with chains of anxiety. Those who burden themselves with the baggage of worry. Overfeeding themselves with their fears, apprehensions, goals, hopes, dreams, doubts, and nightmares. Those who swing fiercely between the past and the future like a wild perpetual pendulum that refuses to rest peacefully in the now.

This is to all those who define themselves by their internal tension and derive meaning from their eternal struggle with themselves. Those who spark their internal fire with their desire and fan it excessively with their ambitions and zeal. A fire that burns them instead of fueling them. A fire that chars them instead of propelling them. Those who are like Ouroboros made of flames.

This is to all those who believe the world to be malicious. Those who, in their ill belief of a hostile world, have themselves become hostile. Those who approach every moment with aggression and apprehension. Those who see the world with tinted eyes but of a different kind. Those who consider every situation to be a war where you must kill to survive.

This is to all those who can no longer let go because they know life will not catch them. Those who refuse to flow because they know they will drown. Those who are afraid of standing up because they know that life will push them down. Those who no longer risk the dark because they know there is no light. Those who can no longer leap because they no longer have faith.

This is a message to all of you. It is okay to fail and to fall. To collapse and to not know it all. It is okay to lose and cry. It is okay to fail no matter how hard you try. It is okay to be imperfect and weak. To not understand yourself or what it is you seek. It is okay to be a face amongst the crowd. To be filled with doubts and not be able to stand out.

Life is a fantastical dream, not a living nightmare. It is the most challenging of games, not a fatal war. Life is a bed of feathers if you can learn to let go. It is a kickboard if you are willing to flow and float. Life is the buoyant ground if you believe you can push it down. It is the most brilliant of lights if you venture into the dark. Life is a set of wings if you believe you can fly. It is the wind that lets you surf and soar the sky.

This is a message to all those out there. You are not alone. I am out there too. We are all out there. We are all in this together.
